New York, 1931
11x14 print suitable for framing.
For Lewis Wicks Hine (1874-1940) the camera was both a research tool and an instrument of social reform. Born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Hine studied sociology at the University of Chicago and Columbia and New York Universities. Hine documented the construction of the Empire State building and is well remembered for some of the most iconic images of the depression era workforce.
